Om man promenerar på Grevegatan i Tierp idag är det svårt att missa fasaden där det tydligt står ”Tierps tryckeri”. Tittar man närmare ser man att det gamla tryckeriet har förvandlats till bostäder efter företagets konkurs 2020. Den nyfikne frågar sig ”Hur började det?”.
Utställningen berättar om tillväxten av Tierps tryckeri under första halvan av 1900-talet. Genom det arkivmaterial som räddades vid konkursen ges en inblick i etableringen av tryckeriet och de resurser som behövdes för att få verksamheten att blomstra de första decennierna. Det handlar kort sagt om människorna, maskinerna, fastigheten och kapitalet.
Tryckeriets roll i lokalsamhället visas genom en affischvägg där affischer från perioden speglar det skedde runt om i det som är Tierps kommun idag. Engagemanget från föreningar och folkrörelser skapade massor av aktivitet: allt från pjäxdans i Söderfors, politiska möten i Ullfors till föreläsningar om psykoanalys i Tierp.
Utställningen med arkivmaterial fortsätter i Tierpsrummet. Detta visas fram till den 4 november 2023.
Utställningen arrangeras av föreningen Företagens historia i Uppsala län i samarbete med Tierps kommun, Kultur och fritid.
